Terms & Conditions

By downloading, installing, or using the Slates mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any revisions.

Slates is a mobile productivity application designed for filmmakers and content creators. The App allows users to:

• Save and organize creative inspirations (URLs, notes, references)
• Draft and edit scripts with rich text
• Build visual storyboards with drag-and-drop shots
• Record and attach voice notes to scenes
• Receive shared URLs via Android/iOS share intents
• Sync content across devices via Supabase

To use certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

• You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
• You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in certain jurisdictions) to create an account.
• You are responsible for all content you create, upload, or share within the App.
• Notify us immediately at gajanansr.work@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

You retain full ownership of any content you create within the App ("User Content"), including scripts, storyboards, voice notes, and Slate entries.

By using the App, you grant Slates a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the App's services.

You agree that your User Content will not:

• Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
• Contain illegal, harmful, defamatory, or obscene material
• Include malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms, without prior notice.

All intellectual property rights in the App — including its design, codebase, UI components, animations, branding, trademarks, and documentation — are owned by Slates or its licensors.

These Terms grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App
• Reverse-engineer or decompile the App
• Use the App’s branding or trademarks without prior written consent
• Sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or any of its components

The App allows you to import URLs from third-party platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. We display publicly available metadata (titles, thumbnails) associated with those URLs for organizational purposes.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any third-party content, services, or platforms. Use of third-party content is subject to the respective platform's terms and conditions.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts or our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App’s infrastructure or servers
• Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots in connection with the App without authorization
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Harvest or collect user data without consent

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Slates, its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the App, other users, or third parties.

You may delete your account at any time via the App settings or by contacting us at gajanansr.work@gmail.com. Upon deletion, your data will be removed per our Privacy Policy.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or courts of competent jurisdiction.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time, without notice or liability. We may also update these Terms at any time; the "Last updated" date will reflect this.
